Lay on the ground
The sun never rises
Yet the moon is always in the sky
Watching the fallen and beaten
Wander to and fro
Their smiles taken and hidden away from the evergreen
No tears will be shed on the withered dewless grass
The trees have died
Their branches limp in the still air
Even the ocean is empty
It's just salty water
Filled with nothing
Once it was filled with creatures
That would flow and that would swim
Once there was light
When the smiles were there
In the evergreen
Once there was light
Only once
